Masquerade on TMC: Pierre Niney and Marine Vacth stage a con on the French Riviera

A gigolo and a con artist decide to combine their talents in Masquerade, airing on TMC. Nicolas Bedos directs Pierre Niney and Marine Vacth in this comedy-drama set on the French Riviera, where romantic relationships become entangled with financial maneuvering.

Adrien, a former dancer whose career was cut short by an accident, lives off Martha, a former movie star played by Isabelle Adjani. Meeting Margot draws him into a scheme to give them a chance at a different life. François Cluzet plays Simon, a real estate agent who becomes part of their plan.

Written and directed by Nicolas Bedos after La Belle Époque, the film was screened out of competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, ahead of its French release on November 1 of the same year. Emmanuelle Devos, Laura Morante and Charles Berling round out the cast. The music was composed by Anne-Sophie Versnaeyen.

For his fourth feature film, Nicolas Bedos reunites with Pierre Niney after OSS 117: Red Alert in Black Africa. His first film, Mr. & Mrs. Adelman, received two César nominations in 2018. La Belle Époque went on to win three Césars in 2020: Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Design and Best Supporting Actress for Fanny Ardant.
