Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves is an adaptation of the cult role-playing game, directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. This fantasy adventure follows a team of anti-heroes on a magical heist, starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis and Hugh Grant. A light-hearted tone, team spirit and an epic spirit are at the heart of the story.
The video showcases a mix of comedy adventure, action and magic, with a rich bestiary, dungeons, spells and choreographed combat.
Dungeons & Dragons: L'Honneur des voleurs will be broadcast on M6 on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 9:10pm.
Synopsis: A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers stage an epic heist to recover a relic. Their plan brings them face to face with powerful enemies and a threat beyond their quest.
The cast includes Chris Pine as a resourceful bard, Michelle Rodriguez as a formidable warrior, Regé-Jean Page as an upright and efficient paladin, Justice Smith as a hesitant sorcerer, Sophia Lillis as a shapeshifting druid, and Hugh Grant as an ambiguously charming antagonist. The universe is based on the codes of high fantasy: guilds, relics, spells, traps, side quests and tabletop humor.

Dungeons & Dragons: 3 questions to Justice Smith and Sophia Lillis
To coincide with the release of "Dungeons & Dragons - Honor of Thieves" on Wednesday April 12, we caught up with two of the film's stars, Justice Smith and Sophia Lillis. Find out more in our interview. [Read more]
The film draws on the iconic mechanisms of Dungeons & Dragons: group formation, class allocation, ability management, creative problem-solving and campaign spirit. The settings and creatures draw on the bestiary and worlds of the manuals, while remaining accessible to a non-initiated audience.
This production would suit fans offamily adventure, playful fantasy and action comedy. Those who enjoy Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle or accessible heroic fantasy sagas might find a similar energy here: team spirit, humor, rhythm and spectacle.
Our review of Dungeons & Dragons : Honor of Thieves
Dungeons & Dragons may not revolutionize the family blockbuster genre, but it's the best film of its kind at the moment, somewhat by default. Here's how it works: the film doesn't take itself too seriously, and although it's rarely surprising, it's fun, funny, generous, its characters are endearing and the story is well told. In short, it does the job, as they say, unlike the latest Marvel films, to name but one. Dungeons & Dragons tries the same recipe, mixing humor and epic, and comes off much better than the latest Ant-Man, released a few weeks ago.
Whether with its story, its characters or its special effects, the film lives up to its ambitions. The action scenes are impressive, and it's easy to see how much the actors enjoy playing their roles. This gives the whole thing a Lord of the Rings parody feel. The film certainly won't be a landmark, but it's far from detestable.
Fans of role-playing games will find everything they love here: a team formed in a tavern, an impressive bestiary, magic, combat and side quests that allow you to visit all sorts of settings. And of course, an outstanding villain. And the tasty Hugh Grant fulfills his mission wonderfully, playing a superb role.
In short, Dungeons & Dragons may not be a masterpiece, but if you're looking for a good special-effects action movie to see at the cinema this Easter, you won't find much better than this particularly entertaining film.
Adapted by Paramount Pictures, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves blends comedy, action and fantasy in a medieval heist movie. Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley , with Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Hugh Grant, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis.
