For this animated feature, Terry Rossio, screenwriter of Shrek, Aladdin and Pirates of the Caribbean, returns with an adaptation of a tale by the Brothers Grimm. Maurice the fabulous cat is the protagonist of this story: cunning, cunning, he's a clever feline who knows how to play on appearances to get what he wants.
Maurice le chat fabuleux is based on the Grimm brothers' fairy tale of the same name, Le joueur de flûte des Hamelin, and adapted from the children's novel Le fabuleux Maurice et ses rongeurs savants, part of Terry Patchett's saga.
Maurice the fabulous cat arrives in a new town, along with his fellow rats. Their sole aim: to rip everyone off, then purr away on a comfortable pile of gold coins. But when they arrive, mysterious and magical events disrupt their plan. Nothing goes according to plan, and they decide to investigate. And so begins a great adventure for this furry little gang!
