One Piece and Netflix, it's a story that's going to last! After the American live-action adaptation, the streaming platform has made official the production of a new anime, called The One Piece. The remake will be produced by Wit Studios(Attack of the Titans, Vinland Saga, Spy x Family). For the moment, no release date has been announced, but a teaser video has been released by Netflix.
This all-new anime will return to the very beginning of the story, to the East Blue arc, already adapted by the live-action. The first episode of the current anime debuted in 1999, and although it's not yet finished to this day, it's true that the first seasons have aged a little, when we see what Wit is capable of producing, we can't wait to see what this future anime will be like. It remains to be seen whether the original voice actors will be used (as in the Japanese live-action version), or whether brand-new voices will be used.
Given the time it takes to produce an anime, it's possible that The One Piece series won't hit screens until 2025. Perhaps it will arrive at the same time as season 2 of the live-action series.
