She was one of Ireland's most beautiful and celebrated voices. On July 26, singer Sinéad O'Connor passed away at the age of just 56. This spring, the Irish Cultural Centre pays tribute to her. As part of its " St. Patrick's Festival ", the cultural center in the 5th arrondissement of Paris is (re)discovering four recent films and documentaries, reflecting the richness and diversity of Irish cinema.
On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, the spotlight is on " Nothing Compares ". This Showtime music documentary depicts the destiny of Sinéad O'Connor, between 1987 and 1993. Director Kathryn Ferguson traces the meteoric rise of this iconic singer, including her struggles and rebellions, and her legacy.
" Nothing Compares ", presented at the Dinard British Film Festival in 2022, can be seen free of charge (subject to availability) at Les 3 Luxembourg cinema, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, on March 12, 2024 from 6pm. The film will be shown in VOST. For this special screening in Paris, the Centre culturel irlandais announces the exclusive presence of director Kathryn Ferguson.
For the remainder of its St. Patrick's Day festival, the Centre Culturel Irlandais will also be screening " Project Space #3 " on March 7, " My Sailor, My Love " on March 12 and " It's a Fine Thing to Sing " on March 13.
