The Un Certain Regard selection is a parallel selection to the Cannes Festival competition, showcasing young cinema from all over the world. Sandhya Suri will be presenting her new film, Santosh, in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes 2024 Festival.
"Sandhya Suri is one of the members of the new generation of filmmakers and directors from India, a country we're delighted to see returning," said Thierry Frémaux, general delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, during the press conference on April 11, 2024, which unveiled much of the official selection.
The film tells the story of Santosh(Shahana Goswami), in India in 2018. She is 28 when her policeman husband tragically dies. She inherits his position and becomes a police officer in her own right. To find out more about this new film, you'll have to be patient!
