Killer Heat - Haunting thriller with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley on Prime Video

Killer Heat, an intense thriller mixed with drama and romance, directed by Philippe Lacôte, will be available on Prime Video from September 26, 2024. This captivating film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley and Richard Madden in a plot set on the island of Crete. As a private detective attempts to uncover the truth behind the suspicious death of a shipping magnate, he finds himself plunged into a world where the sunny beauty of the Mediterranean hides betrayals, jealousies and deadly dangers.

Nick Bali (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), an American private detective living in Greece, is hired to investigate the death of Leo Vardakis, a young shipping magnate found dead under suspicious circumstances on the island of Crete. While the local police conclude it was an accident, Leo's sister-in-law(Shailene Woodley) remains convinced it was murder. As Nick delves deeper into the case, he discovers that the powerful Vardakis family, headed by the charismatic but ominous Theo(Richard Madden), is at the heart of secrets far darker than he ever imagined. In an environment where loyalty is rare and each person hides their own motives, Nick must navigate lies, betrayal and dangerous passions to uncover the truth about what really happened to Leo.

Killer Heat is aimed at viewers who appreciate sophisticated thrillers with elements of romance and drama. Fans of films such as The Talented Mr. Ripley or The Bewitched will appreciate the haunting Mediterranean atmosphere, combined with a complex plot where human relationships are at the heart of the suspense. What sets Killer Heat apart is the way it juxtaposes the paradisiacal beauty of Crete with the darkness of the Vardakis family's secrets, creating a striking contrast that intensifies the plot.
