McWalter will be available on Prime Video from September 12, 2025.
Synopsis: McWalter is the star agent of the NUS (New Special Unit), America's most powerful agency. Over-trained, charismatic and convinced of his own legend, he is suddenly accused of a series of attacks around the world. Hunted by his former teammates, he embarks on a spectacular run to prove his innocence. Guided by Pollux, his faithful geek sidekick, McWalter must unravel a global conspiracy while evading absurd traps, all the way to an unknown island harboring an explosive secret.
The McWalter film is based on a character already popularized in the videos of Mister V, known for his absurdist YouTube humor. This feature-length film marks his first headlining appearance in a fictional format. Directed by Simon Astier, used to mixing comedy and action with Hero Corp, the project is positioned as a parodic retelling of classic spy films.
McWalter may appeal to fans of action comedies in the vein of OSS 117, Johnny English or Kingsman: Secret Service. The offbeat humor, absurd dialogue and spectacular action scenes are also reminiscent of productions such as The Beverly Hills Cop. The film targets an audience accustomed to pop references and genre hijacking, with a light-hearted, slapstick tone.
The script was co-written by Simon Astier, Mister V, Vincent Tirel, Freddy Gladieux and Thibault Valetoux, bringing together several figures from the French humor scene. This collaboration gives the film a very contemporary tone, between satire of American spy films and web-based generational humor.
