This year, the 51st César Awards ceremony is taking place on a Thursday for the first time. Originally scheduled for Friday, February 27, the event will instead be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The change was made to “give full prominence to the Enfoirés concert, a major charity event for Restos du Cœur, broadcast on Friday, February 27,” announced the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma and CANAL+.
Led by Camille Cottin and hosted by Benjamin Lavernhe, the César 2026 awards ceremony will take place, as usual, at L'Olympia. The event will bring together the top talent from the French cinema scene and the most prominent actors. Among the nominated films this year, several stand out with multiple nominations.
This is the case for Nouvelle Vague by Richard Linklater, which received nominations in no fewer than 10 categories. Also in the spotlight are L'Attachement by Carine Tardieu, Dossier 137 by Dominik Moll, and L'Inconnu de la Grande Arche by Stéphane Demoustier. An César d'honneur will also be awarded to Jim Carrey.
