A first feature film for Yuiga Danzuka and already a first selection, since his film Brand New Landscape has been selected for the Quinzaine des Cinéastes 2025.

After the other parallel sections and the official selection, the Quinzaine des Cinéastes took the stage to reveal its 2025 vintage. For the 57th edition of this parallel section renowned for its ability to discover the directors of tomorrow, 18 feature-length films from all horizons have been chosen, proof that world cinema is as abundant, exciting and inventive as ever.

One of the great discoveries to come is Japanese director Yuiga Danzuka's first film, Brand New Landscape.

La Quinzaine des Cinéastes review: " Brand New Landscape is the debut film of 26-year-old Japanese director Yuiga Danzuka . A small miracle about a family's reunion, several years after the mother's disappearance. In terms of its staging, elegance and depiction of certain parts of Tokyo, the film is quite moving. And in the finesse with which it depicts family and filial relationships, it's not unlike the beauty and emotional richness of Ozu's cinema."
