Documentaries, tributes, portraits of artists or unclassifiable works find in this space a precious recognition: the Special Screenings of the Cannes Film Festival 2025 embody the festival's desire to embrace the full diversity of world cinema, beyond the classic competition formats. They offer directors the freedom to explore personal or political subjects with boldness and authenticity.
Among the works selected for special screenings this year is Israeli director Or Sinai's debut film, Mama. In 2016, she won the Cinéfondation First Prize with her short film Anna. This first feature film is a full-length adaptation of that short.
Little is known about the synopsis of Mama, except that the film tells the story of a lonely woman (played by actress Jenya Dodina).
Mama will be unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. The release date in French cinemas is not yet known.
Synopsis: The official synopsis of this film is not yet known.
