David Gilmour fans have a date with the cinema this autumn. The legend, former Pink Flod singer and guitarist, has announced the theatrical release of the film " Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome ". The concert was recorded in 2024 during David Gilmour's last tour, the"Luck and Strange Tour".
Last year, the famous British artist performed a series of shows in Europe. The musician and singer kicked off the tour in Brighton, UK, before moving on to Rome, Italy, with no less than six sold-out performances at the Circus Maximus. David Gilmour 's many admirers will now be able to discover this concert series on the big screen, thanks to the theatrical release of this film directed by Gavin Elder, a long-time collaborator of David Gilmour.
Set against the backdrop of the ancient ruins of Rome, this musical show features tracks from David Gilmour's latest solo album, "Luck and Strange", including a moving rendition of " Between Two Points " with Romany Gilmour.
But the concert is also an opportunity to (re)discover some Pink Floyd classics, such as " Sorrow ", " High Hopes ", " Breathe ", " Time ", " Wish You Were Here " and " Comfortably Numb ". " With no new concerts on the horizon, 'David Gilmour 'Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome' is the best and only way to discover the master of his art live on stage," it is explained on the dedicated website.
For the time being, we still don't know which cinemas in and around Paris will be showing " Live at the Circus Maximus, Rome ". But the dedicated website announces that the film will be shown in cinemas and IMAX around the world, " for a limited time ", from September 17, 2025. Tickets go on sale on August 6 at 3 p.m. (French time).
