Broadcast as a livestream (for a fee) on July 5 for almost 10 hours, this concert event featured a host of prestigious bands and talented artists, including Metallica, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Slayer, Guns N' Roses, Anthrax, Billy Corgan, Tom Morello, Mike Brodin, Nuno Bettencourt and Rudy Sarzo.
In front of a 40,000-strong audience, the invited bands and artists paid tribute to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. While Metallica chose to cover Black Sabbath's " Hole in the Sky ", Halestorm thrilled everyone with its version of Ozzy Osbourne's " Perry Mason ". Yungblud also surprised the audience with a cover of Black Sabbath's " Changes ". In addition to these ground-breaking performances, the concert raised almost 160 million euros for charity.
And the story of"Back To The Beginning" isn't over yet, since a film of the concert will soon be released. Expected to be released in early 2026, the film will be entitled " Back To The Beginning: Ozzy's Final Bow ". Billed as a " big-screen tribute to Ozzy Osbourne and the Black Sabbath legacy ", the film promises to " capture the raw power and emotional weight of Ozzy's final bow in his hometown of Birmingham ", announces Mercury Studios.
The producer also explained that the film will be " a condensed version of the epic event that took place all day at Villa Park ". The film will feature a number of iconic songs performed for the occasion, including " War Pigs ", " Iron Man " and " Paranoid ". The feature-length film - which Louder claims will last 100 minutes - will also reveal behind-the-scenes footage of the huge event, as well as interviews with artists present at the iconic concert.
