A Family of Bastards, previously announced under the title The Bastards, now has a release date. Mourad Winter's new film will stream exclusively on Prime Video on June 12, 2026, in more than 240 countries and territories. The platform also unveiled the poster and the first stills from the feature.

The story unfolds in Paname, in 1997. After a shootout leaves his father for dead, Mohamed discovers that his father had hidden the existence of Maurice and Morgane, a brother and sister until then unknown to him. Forced to live with them, he must also take over Chez Momo, a Parisian bar where schemes, slot machines and pay-to-play stories are part of the backdrop.
Guided by Djilali, the bar’s backbone played by Kad Merad, and Sylvie, a veteran showgirl portrayed by Florence Foresti, the trio fights to save the venue, drowning in debt, while dodging attempts to bleed them dry by the local underworld. The film weaves together sibling tensions, scams, and the heaviness of a burdensome family legacy.
A Bastard Family marks Mourad Winter’s second feature, following Love Is Overrated. The director reunites here with Hakim Jemili, Laura Felpin, and Benjamin Tranié, in a dramedy set in late-1990s Paris.
Presented at Prime Video Presents 2025, the project is produced by Iconoclast. With this scheduled release, Prime Video highlights one of its upcoming French originals, a film centered on a blended family shaped by secrets, debts and shady dealings.
