Twenty years after its triumph, Le Roi Soleil continues to captivate audiences and is making a grand comeback! For the first time, television is dedicating an entire musical evening to the cult show, in the prestigious setting that inspired it: the Palace of Versailles. Tune in on Thursday, December 25, at 9:10 p.m. on M6(and streaming on M6+) for this exceptional prime-time event.

This grand evening, entitled Le Roi Soleil à Versailles(The Sun King in Versailles), features Emmanuel Moire, the eternal Sun King, alongside Petitom, the unforgettable Molière, guiding viewers through the castle's iconic locations. The Hall of Mirrors, the Royal Opera, the Royal Chapel, and the gardens will host performances choreographed by Kamel Ouali, while Christophe Maé and many prestigious guests will join the troupe for unique performances.

The show's legendary songs, such as Être à la hauteur, Je fais de toi mon essentiel and Tant qu'on rêve encore, are revisited in this sumptuous setting. In the second half of the evening, a 90-minute documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at the musical's grand return. The cameras followed a year of preparation, from the casting of the artists to Kamel Ouali's work on the staging, including the creation of more than two hundred custom-made costumes by David Belugou and the construction of the sets.

Currently touring throughout France, and currently in Paris, the show is already a huge hit: 350,000 tickets have been sold for the 2026 tour, even before the premiere. It promises to be a royal, festive, and unforgettable Christmas evening for all fans of the Sun King!
