In August 2025, the Megadeth frontman revealed in a message posted on social media that the band's next studio album would be their last. Formed in 1983 by Californian guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, Megadeth is part of the famous Big 4, alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Although the band has undergone quite a few lineup changes, this has not prevented Megadeth from enjoying success, notably thanks to the album "Countdown to Extinction," released in 1992, certified double platinum, and responsible for Megadeth's rise to popularity. Since then, the band has released no fewer than 11 albums, the latest of which is entitled " The Sick, the Dying... and the Dead!". This 16th studio album, released on September 2, 2022, features several singles, including " We'll Be Back " and " Night Stalkers ".
