Exciting news for movie buffs in Bobigny! On March 11, 2026, the city of Seine-Saint-Denis is set to open the Alice Guy Cinema, a new complex located right at the foot of line 5 (Bobigny-Pablo Picasso station), served by the T1 tramway and multiple bus routes.
The opening of Cine Alice Guy signals the exciting return of a downtown cinema, after the closure of Magic Theater in 2019 and the touring screenings organized by Écran Nomade. This new venue features six screens, including three flexible spaces capable of hosting live events, with a total seating capacity of 865 seats.
The programming at Alice Guy Cinema will blend blockbuster films with art-house cinema, while also hosting events, concerts, theater and dance performances, exhibitions, and workshops. The ticket prices range from 4€ to 7€ per seat, with a pricing policy designed to make cinema accessible to everyone. Additionally, a café-bookstore will be set up in the lobby of the complex.
The cinema’s name, selected by the city’s residents through a public consultation, pays tribute to Alice Guy. As the first female director in film history, she directed over 400 movies from 1896 into the 1920s and played a key role in shaping the language of cinema.
In celebration of the opening, on March 11, 2026, all screenings will be available at a flat rate of €4 for the entire day.
