From June 11 to 14, 2026 in Paris, the Eatfilm film festival will examine, in its inaugural edition, our relationship with food through the eyes of filmmakers from around the world, revealing that eating is also an intimate, social, and political act.

From June 11 to 14, 2026, Paris plays host to the inaugural edition of Eatfilm, a brand-new festival entirely dedicated to documentary cinema about gastronomy. Hosted at the CiNey and the Jardin des Traverses, in the 18th arrondissement, the event aims to push beyond traditional formats to offer an original perspective: treating food as a reflection of our societies.

Not just a culinary festival, nor a traditional cinephile gathering, Eatfilm dives into the deep connections between what we eat and who we are. Through a curated selection of 10 international documentaries (drawn from about fifty), the festival traverses territories and eras, from the Scottish Highlands to Delhi, across a variety of historical and social contexts. Two heritage works by Frederick Wiseman and Agnès Varda thus converse with eight contemporary films.

For this inaugural edition of the festival, the ambassador is Michelin-starred chef Manon Fleury, of the Datil restaurant, linked here Datil. "Manon Fleury embodies better than anyone the core belief behind Eatfilm: cooking, like filmmaking, is a way of looking the world square in the face. A passionate cinephile, she bridges eye and palate, between the dark cinema hall and the plate." say the festival organizers.

Beyond the screenings, Eatfilm will offer tastings, workshops, culinary residencies, meetings and masterclasses. An outdoor screening will punctuate the program on the evening of June 12, at the Jardin des Traverses on the Petite Ceinture, surrounded by community gardens!
