Available on Netflix on May 29, 2026
Biopic, drama, sports | 45-minute episodes
Created by Paulo Morelli, Pedro Morelli, Quico Meirelles | Starring Lucas Agrícola, Rodrigo Santoro, Bruno Mazzeo
Original title: Brasil 70: A Saga do Tri
Nationality: Brazil

The series traces the buildup and the team’s journey as Brazil pushes toward a third World Cup title. After the heartbreak of 1966, the Seleção plays under immense sporting and symbolic pressure: a victory in Mexico, the first nation to win three times, and the weight of a country living under the long shadow of the military regime.

Brasil 70: The Third Crown chronicles the tensions and backstage twists of the campaign, with Pelé at the center, first under João Saldanha and then under Mário Zagallo. Netflix presents the miniseries as a fiction inspired by that era, produced in partnership with O2 Filmes.

In the cast, Lucas Agrícola stars as Pelé, Rodrigo Santoro embodies João Saldanha, Bruno Mazzeo takes on Zagallo, and Ravel Andrade lends his likeness to Tostão. Bruna Mascarenhas, Lara Tremouroux, Gui Ferraz, Caio Cabral, Daniel Blanco, Fillipe Soutto, Hugo Haddad, and Maicon Rodrigues are also among the names linked to this portrayal of the 1970 Seleção.

The project targets football fans, but also viewers drawn to historical narratives where sport intersects with politics. The 1970 World Cup stands out as a turning point: a victory that has become legendary for Brazilian football, yet set within a grim chapter of the country’s history.
