Chased by both human and spiritual adversaries, Pavi reunites with Nisha, her twin sister whom she was separated from years ago. Together they must unravel the mystery of their origins and prevent the collapse of the Seven Refuges. The story thus revives the Avatar succession concept, while placing it in a world that now refuses to trust its new protector.
Avatar: The Seven Refuges is the animated continuation of The Legend of Korra. It should not be mistaken for Avatar: The Last Airbender, the live-action adaptation now available on Netflix. This new 2D animated production sits firmly in the continuity crafted by the creators of the original series.
The series will total 26 episodes, each around 30 minutes, spread across two volumes of thirteen episodes each. Volume 1 will roll out in four batches: episodes 1–3 on October 9, episodes 4–6 on October 16, episodes 7–9 on October 23, and the final four episodes on October 30, 2026. The release schedule for Volume 2 will be announced at a later date.
In the original version, Saheli Khan lends her voice to Pavi and Aishu Devan voices Nisha. The cast also includes Akshay Khanna as Karthik, Major Curda as Jae, Sakina Jaffrey, Darren Barnet, Dianne Doan, and Dee Bradley Baker, who voices the Geet and Ruhi creatures.
Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko also serve as executive producers. Ethan Spaulding is on as an executive producer and Sehaj Sethi as a co-executive producer. The series is produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
