Keanu Reeves could team up with Don Lee in The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, the English-language remake of the South Korean crime thriller James Wan is developing for Paramount.

Keanu Reeves is in talks to join The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, James Wan's new Paramount film. According to a report published by TheWrap on October 20, 2026, the actor could star opposite Don Lee, also known as Ma Dong-seok. His involvement is not yet finalized, and his character has not been disclosed.

The project revisits Lee Won-tae’s South Korean crime thriller, which premiered out of competition at Cannes in 2019 and was released in France under the title The Gangster, the Cop and the Devil. It centers on an uneasy alliance between a detective and a gang boss as they track a serial killer. The cop wants to arrest him; the gangster wants revenge.

Don Lee is already attached to this new take to reprise his role from the original film. This return links the two installments, as James Wan directs and helps produce the remake. Eric Pearson has penned the latest draft of the screenplay, following work by Shay Hatten and Brian Helgeland.

No French release date has been announced yet in the project announcements.
