Renée Zellweger, Dominic Sessa and Peter Dinklage have been announced as cast members of Darlington, a comedy-drama written and directed by Sacha Gervasi.

Renée Zellweger is set to play a forgotten actress in Darlington, the new project from Sacha Gervasi, director of Hitchcock. Dominic Sessa and Peter Dinklage round out the cast, according to Deadline, whose report was picked up by The Playlist.

The role offered to Zellweger rests on a strange trip back in time. Her character, Kate Spencer, is hired to play again the role that made her famous on television. Her employer, a tech billionaire played by Sessa, has recreated a daily life frozen in 1923 at an English estate. The actress must therefore reprise her role within this entirely staged private life.

Gervasi also penned the screenplay and will reunite with Dinklage after their collaboration on My Dinner with Hervé. Alexander Payne is attached to the project as an executive producer. Filming is planned in the UK for spring 2027.
