Hogwarts Legacy: a free, mysterious update to thank players this summer

What a nice surprise! Last January, Avalanche Software announced on Twitter the release of, among other things, an update for Hogwarts Legacy. New content will be available from summer 2024, including an exclusive PlayStation quest for other platforms. An update to thank players, but one that raises many questions? We take a look!

New content coming soon for Hogwarts Legacy? Avalanche Software, the development studio behind the magical software released in 2023, announced in a tweet on X back in January that"updates and additional features" would be available from summer 2024, as well as the PlayStation console-exclusive quest for other platforms, namely Xbox consoles, PC and the Nintendo Switch.

An update thatAvalanche Community Manager Chandler Wood touched on in another tweet on March 8, clarifying that the wording used in the January tweet was indeed intentional:"We love seeing all your guesses and hopes about what this update will contain, and while we're not ready to talk about it yet, I want to set some expectations about what we're working on."Our original wording 'additional updates and features for the game' was very intentional". The idea behind this update? Thanking players:"This update is a small way of showing our gratitude to our players for the incredible response to the game," explains Chandler Wood.

What can we expect from this content? As far as the exclusive quest is concerned, we already know: it's a secondary mission taking place in Hogsmeade, in an empty store. A slightly creepy quest, which gave us a little trouble, but which should appeal to PC, Xbox and Nintendo Switch owners. A mission long enough, in any case, to keep gamers busy for a while.

And as far as"updates and additional features" are concerned, no information has been released yet, but we're hoping for some DLC (particularly eagerly awaited by fans), unless it's just a matter of graphical or gameplay tweaks, whether to the combat mechanics or improvements to the Room on Demand. But don't expect a big expansion or anything complex. In the meantime, let's dive back into Hogwarts Legacy or await the release of Harry Potter Quidditch Champions... To your joysticks!
