Announced by Daedalic Entertainment and DALOAR for 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox, The Occultist promises to draw players into a paranormal investigation, putting you in the shoes of Alan Rebels in a narrative horror game. A tantalizing prospect for fans of thrills and supernatural tales eager for a story filled with mystery.
The story is as follows. Paranormal specialist Alan Rebels is investigating the sudden and unexplained disappearance of his father. His father grew up on the cursed island of Sacrepierre, and it's here that Alan is about to encounter the ghosts of the past. In fact, it's on this island, uninhabited since 1950, that a macabre sect has been conducting dark experiments and rituals. "This unique investigation will show Alan what the forces of the occult are really capable of. Perhaps it's possible to lift the curse that seems to be hanging over Sacrepierre... but do we really have to?" asks the synopsis.
Now that's something to get excited about. But what can we expect in terms of gameplay? We're promised a first-person game combining exploration, infiltration and puzzles, all in an atmosphere that promises to be frightening, thanks in particular to a soundtrack composed by Pepe Herrero and "extraordinary graphic quality". To complete his investigation, Alan will need to use his occult pendulum, which "allows him to interact with and modify his environment thanks to its five unique and original mechanisms".
