Montereau Games Week, a video game and pop culture convention, returns for its third edition at Salle Rustic in Montereau-Fault-Yonne (77). Arcade cabinets, retro consoles, the world of Stranger Things and opportunities to meet creators await us on November 7 and 8, 2026.

The Montereau-Fault-Yonne video game expo returns this weekend, on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026, in Seine-et-Marne. For its third edition, Montereau Games Week is back at Salle Rustic, in the heart of the city, with a mix of retro gaming, latest-generation consoles and pop culture activities. It’s a great way to fill the weekend as the days grow shorter.

The history of this event is still very young. The first edition was held in November 2024 under the name Push Start Button, Retro Games Week. According to the Town of Montereau-Fault-Yonne, it brought together more than 1,000 enthusiasts—enough to turn it into an early-November tradition.

What is Montereau Games Week?

There’s no sprawling exhibition hall like Paris Expo Porte de Versailles here. Montereau’s gaming convention keeps things intimate, taking place on the scale of a municipal hall. It is organized by the Style2Vie au Confluent association, chaired by Mohamed Amira. Its guiding principle, as reported by La République de Seine-et-Marne: everything is playable, and visitors aren’t here to wander rows of sales booths.

Mohammed Zemouri, co-organizer, sums up the spirit of the event with a smile: before moving on to next-gen, you first have to finish off the old generation. The experience is like a time machine plugged into the mains. You go from the earliest consoles to virtual reality, from a flashing arcade cabinet to a simulator. There are also more arcade cabinets than at previous editions.

What’s new in this third edition?

Before entering the main arcade, visitors walk through a darkened corridor filled with sets, posters and models, tracing the history of video games and pop culture. This year, it takes them into the world of Stranger Things and its Upside Down. It sets the tone from the start, much like the opening credits of a series you know by heart.

Two new spaces are also making their debut: one dedicated to Michael Jackson, featuring the game Moonwalker, and the other to Star Wars. And following Halloween, the haunted room is back for those who like a good scare between games.

As for guests, creator Paul Cuisset is expected to attend. He is best known for Flashback, one of the great French games of the early 1990s, and visitors will be able to meet him there. Actor Samy Naceri (the Taxi series, Days of Glory) is also announced as the guest of honor on Saturday, pending confirmation. If he makes the trip, he will tour the event before taking part in an interview and an autograph session.

What’s on the convention program?

  • Arcade cabinets and pinball machines
  • Retro and next-gen consoles
  • Virtual reality and simulators
  • Immersive corridor themed around Stranger Things
  • Michael Jackson area, featuring the game Moonwalker
  • Star Wars area
  • Horror room
  • Meet Paul Cuisset, creator of Flashback
  • Saturday: scheduled appearance by Samy Naceri, interview and signing session (subject to change)
  • Programmers, developers, creators and actors at the show
  • Exhibitors and other activities

Who is this video game expo for?

Montereau Games Week speaks to several generations at once. Parents can revisit the controllers of their childhood, while younger visitors discover that Pac-Man was played standing up, one hand on the joystick. It’s an easy family outing, but also a great option for friends who missed the Paris Games Week 2026 in October. Cosplayers even get a discounted rate, so you might spot a few costumes in the aisles.

A quick tip: crowds often gather around the star machines in the middle of the afternoon, and Saturday is likely to be busier with the guest of honor. Arriving as soon as the doors open lets you enjoy the machines without waiting in line. Younger children should approach the horror room with caution.

How to get there and how much does it cost?

Montereau Games Week opens its doors at Salle Rustic, Place du Calvaire, in Montereau-Fault-Yonne, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission costs €6 for one day or €10 for the weekend, with a reduced rate of €3 for cosplayers and free entry for children under 7. All the information is available on the event’s official page.

From Paris, Montereau station is served by the Transilien Line R from Gare de Lyon, with the journey taking just over an hour. Once there, take a detour to the bridge spanning the confluence of the Seine and Yonne rivers, where the equestrian statue of Napoleon commemorates the 1814 Battle of Montereau.
