Journées Particulières 2026: the visit to Louis Vuitton's Prototype Workshop is scheduled for today at 2 p.m.

Sketches, fittings, volumes, materials: it all starts here. Today, booking slots open at 2 p.m. to visit the Louis Vuitton Prototypes Workshop for free, a venue rarely accessible to the public, during LVMH's 2026 Journées Particulières.

Before landing in stores, a Louis Vuitton creation has already come a long way. The Journées Particulières invite you to trace the journey back to the source from October 16 to 18, 2026, with three days of free behind-the-scenes tours at the group’s Houses. Created in 2011, the event returns for a 6th edition under the theme Roots of the Dream, bringing together this year 46 Houses in 69 sites across 12 countries. Workshops, workshops, archives and iconic addresses open to the public to reveal what happens long before the storefront: precise gestures, trials, fittings and a few necessary detours before an idea is ready to hit the road.

Louis Vuitton

At Louis Vuitton, it all begins with a single model. Founded in 1854, the House takes its name from Louis Vuitton, a trunk-maker who opened his first workshop-store on Rue Neuve-des-C Capucines in Paris and gradually built his world around the Art du voyage. Since then, the Maison has expanded its savoir-faire far beyond leather goods, extending from ready‑to‑wear to shoes, and encompassing accessories, watchmaking, jewelry and fragrances. For the 2026 Journées Particulières, l’Atelier des Prototypes, housed at 34 Rue du Louvre, reveals this pivotal moment when les croquis quittent le papier pour prendre forme. The prototypists and pattern-makers work with materials, proportions and techniques to bring to life the first leather goods, luggage and accessories. Plusieurs centaines de prototypes are produced there each year, before the chosen designs continue their journey to production.

Louis Vuitton's 2026 Special Days program at the Prototypes Workshop:

  • Visit to the Prototype Workshop and a tour of the key steps that bring a new model to life:
    – from the initial sketch to material selection ;
    – from the pattern cutting to shaping the form ;
    – up to the prototype fabrication, the first concrete version of the future creation.
