A design trail inspired by Japan at Le Bon Marché for Paris Design Week 2026

Heading to Japan without leaving the Left Bank! Le Bon Marché puts Japanese design in the spotlight with a curated route that blends installations, furniture and craftsmanship during Paris Design Week, from September 10 to 19, 2026.

Paris Design Week loves to circulate ideas as much as it welcomes visitors. Department stores, galleries, museums, private mansions, ateliers, and more intimate addresses become creative pit stops where know-how exchanges, cultures cross paths, and influences from elsewhere take on new shapes. Beyond the professional circle, the event shows how designers reinterpret forms, usages, and heritage to push boundaries. A different way to explore Paris and feel the pulse of contemporary creation, from September 10 to 19, 2026.

For its fourth appearance at Design Week, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche makes Japan the throughline of its fall season with Super Japon, a guided route unfolding throughout the store, including the Home sections. Here, the land of the rising sun inspires rather than merely decorates: the Mobilier national highlights the creative bridges between France and Japan, FRAMA works with the olfactory register through a scented installation, while USM envisions a meditative pavilion blending architecture, Michael Kenna’s photographs and Samsung devices. The Japanese influence extends in lines, materials and usages, with references to Mingei, to wabi-sabi or to Mono-ha, but also pieces signed by Isamu Noguchi or Charlotte Perriand. A getaway to the archipelago... in a design edition.
