In Bastille, JAD brings crafts out of the workshop with a pop-up where know-how, design and DIY brush shoulders during Paris Design Week, from September 9 to 13, 2026.

In September, Paris switches to design mode. With Paris Design Week, creativity breaks out of its usual circuits to take over galleries, studios, institutions, shops and even more unexpected venues, along a trail that blends emerging talents, established houses and exceptional craftsmanship. It's an opportunity to freely explore many installations, follow new design directions, and see how objects, materials and usages are being reinvented. The event runs from September 10 to 19, 2026.

In Bastille, the Bastille, the JAD – Jardin des métiers d’Art et du Design is temporarily pulling its studios in Sèvres to relocate in Avril for a pop-up series called Objets en devenir, running from 9 to 13 September 2026. Fifteen resident artisans and three invited designers take on the same challenge: reimagining their crafts through the spirit of DIY, that is, imagining objects that are understandable, adaptable or reproducible. The projects, developed notably at JAD’s MakerLab, show how seemingly disparate techniques can converge to birth new ways of making. Beyond the exhibition, hands‑on workshops, talks and a café will structure the days, offering a more direct look into the creative process. The choice of Avril isn’t accidental: this new cultural venue, housed in an old artisan village in Bastille, will officially open in November 2026.
