Tang Frères, the iconic Asian grocery retailer, is making its way to Val d’Oise. Fans of authentic Asian products will soon have a new destination in the large Patte-d’Oie shopping center in Herblay, where a 1,000-square-meter store has been eagerly anticipated. Originally set to open at the end of 2025, the launch has now been pushed back to 2026—though for valid reasons. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place this Tuesday, February 10th, signaling that the opening is just around the corner. We’ve got all the details.

The renowned Asian retailer Tang Frères is gearing up to open a new supermarket in Herblay-sur-Seine (Val-d'Oise). Located within the Patte-d'Oie shopping district, this 1,000-square-meter store will be situated along the D14 road. Originally scheduled to open at the end of 2025, the launch has been delayed. The new opening is now slated for June 2026, promising to give the neighborhood a fresh boost of activity.

For the record, Tang Frères is an emblematic company in the distribution of Asian products in France. Founded in 1976 by the Tang brothers, of Laotian origin and Chinese ancestry, the brand began with a small grocery store in the 13ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, in the heart of the Asian district. Thanks to strong demand for exotic food products and know-how in direct importation, Tang Frères expands rapidly, becoming a benchmark for Asian communities and lovers of Asian cuisine. The company diversified its offer by importing fresh and frozen products, launching its own brand and becoming involved in audiovisual production. Today, Tang Frères owns several supermarkets in the Paris region and continues to be a major player in Asian retailing in Europe. After announcing an opening in the Hauts-de-Seine department, the department store continues its expansion in the Paris region.

A new commercial player for Patte-d'Oie

Tang Frères, a veritable institution in the distribution of Asian products in France, is continuing its expansion in the Paris region. After setting up in Paris and its inner suburbs, the brand is now tackling Herblay-sur-Seine, in a rapidly changing commercial sector.

The new supermarket will be located on the former site of Zôdio, a brand specializing in home decoration and furnishings, which closed in 2024. Tang Frères will occupy 1,000 m² of the building, while the other part of the premises will house a Kiabi store.

An expected impact on visitor numbers

The arrival of Tang Frères is seen as an opportunity to boost the commercial appeal of Herblay's Patte-d'Oie district. With its wide selection of food products, exotic fruits, groceries and fresh produce imported directly from Asia, the supermarket should attract a new clientele, both local and from the Paris region.

The Val-d'Oise is already home to a number of brands offering products from around the world, but Tang Frères remains a benchmark in the field. Its location could also benefit neighboring businesses, by increasing the flow of visitors to the area.

The opening is expected by June 2026.

The store is scheduled to open in June 2026, allowing time to prepare the premises to meet the brand's needs. The project has grown more ambitious than initially planned, as it will feature larger storage areas and a spacious Tang Gourmet section. This area will include a generous dining space on-site, complete with a veranda to enhance the experience, according to Mayor Philippe Rouleau.

With this expansion, Tang Frères is strengthening its presence in the Île-de-France region and confirming its ambition to make Asian cuisine accessible to an ever-wider audience.
