Paris Design Week 2026: a welcoming installation transforms a courtyard in the Marais

As the season kicks off, get ready to wear out your soles a bit. The Paris Design Week is back, bigger than ever, turning the capital into a giant showroom from September 10 to 19, 2026. For ten days, exhibitions, installations, workshops, and talks shake things up across Paris. From cutting-edge galleries to ultra-stylish pop-ups, the entire design universe — furniture, fashion, architecture, tech — takes over the city. Largely free, the event offers a good excuse to switch perspective, test ideas in real life, and spot the trends to come.

In the Marais, the studio CLUZEL/PLUCHON is betting on conviviality and sharing with PICNIC, an installation designed for the courtyard of the Hôtel d’Albret, home to the City of Paris’s Department of Cultural Affairs. Founded by designers Sébastien Cluzel and Morgane Pluchon, the studio focuses on everyday objects that create connection as well as serve a purpose. Here, the centerpiece takes the form of a large curved table, conceived around GIER, a collection of urban furniture created with the company Guyon to rethink how public space is used while questioning resource preservation. The public is invited to sit around this quirky table to explore its shapes and its uses.
