In the Marais, the visit takes on a new rhythm. Hôtels particuliers, cobbled courtyards, gardens and cultural institutions host installations that converse with the history of the place and sometimes reveal another facet. Here, design slips into the heritage, reinterprets an use, highlights a detail or catches the eye where you wouldn’t expect. The neighborhood lends itself especially well to this, with its passageways, old façades and cultural venues just minutes apart. A string of discoveries to follow through the streets, between ancient stones and contemporary creations, without turning the stroll into a scavenger hunt or feeling like you’re doing the same tour twice.
