History buffs, this event is for you! On Saturday, November 22, and Sunday, November 23, 2025, the Histoire de Lire book fair welcomes you to the Hôtel de Ville and the Ancienne Poste de Versailles for historical encounters with the genre's greatest authors. More than 200 writers will be on hand for book signings, as well as author cafés and debates between historians, at this new edition of a literary fair that is already more than 10 years old.
Since its creation in 2008, the Histoire de Lire book fair has aimed to promote works of high historical quality that are accessible to a wide audience. It is open to various forms of written expression (biographies, essays, memoirs, historical novels, comic books) and welcomes both established historians and promising young talents.
The aim of this fair is to make a science that is still too often reserved for knowledgeable audiences more accessible and lively, thereby broadening its audience to include younger people. It's a great way to brush up on your history while having a good time! A youth village awaits the little ones, where they can easily become interested in the world of Belfort & Lupin and other youth heroes. Children can also meet figures from the Resistance, have tea with Shakespeare, or pretend to be princes and princesses!
New storytellers will also be featured, using video games and virtual reality to engage all audiences with other forms of storytelling. This is an opportunity to playKingdom Come 2 or try out self-service game sequences, explained by history professors. In the Agora, meet authors, experts, and video content creators who will compare history and digital technology.
Not to mention thepresentation of the Historical Comic Book Award on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and the History 2.0 Award on Friday at 8:30 p.m., this time at the UGC Le Cyrano cinema.
