Fans of contemporary art, head to the contemporary art scene at the Salon d'Automne from October 28 to November 1, 2026 for a fresh edition devoted to modern creation. This fair, which has been around since 1903, helped launch major movements and key figures in contemporary art, from Matisse to Guimard. Originally held on the Champs-Élysées, it is now staged at Place de la Concorde in Paris.
Over five days, more than 1,000 stunning works will come together on 4,000 square meters to showcase art in all its diversity and originality. Artists from 50 nationalities will unite at this Paris fair to offer visitors a journey as rich as it is striking. For the 2026 edition, the Salon d'Automne shines a particular spotlight on literature, a theme championed by this year’s patron: the writer Gilles Legardinier.
Since the early 20th century, this Autumn Salon has sought to offer a fresh lens on how art is created across eras, challenging traditional forms. It has long been a privileged witness to fauvism, surrealism, and cubism—avant-garde movements that reshaped the landscape. Rooted in that prestigious legacy, the salon today continues to bring together artists from around the world, each presenting their own style and vision.
No hierarchy is imposed among the diverse arts, allowing them to present themselves with equal freedom in 19 artistic sections. Painting, sculpture, architecture, printmaking, drawing, photography, environmental art, digital art, artist's books, unknown worlds and myths, abstraction, naive art, Chromatics, Free Expression, Figuration... The realms are grouped by family, letting visitors roam the fair at will according to their tastes and curiosity.
Art lovers, set out to discover tomorrow's brightest talents at the Salon d'Automne, coming to Paris in October 2026.
