The Heemang Festival returns on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, 2026, to the Pont Saint-Louis in Paris, for a major cultural gathering marking 140 years of Franco-Korean diplomatic relations. On the menu: performances, workshops, gastronomy, crafts, and encounters in an iconic, must-see Parisian setting. Admission is free and open to all.

On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 July 2026, the Heemang Festival takes over the Pont Saint-Louis, between Île de la Cité and Île Saint-Louis, just steps from Notre-Dame. Organized by the association Korea, Flavor and Culture, this free Korean festival invites you to a major gathering for discoveries around Korean culture, featuring performances, workshops, gastronomy, crafts, and cultural exchanges.

A free, immersive dive into Korean culture

Over two days, the Pont Saint-Louis will host a program designed as a cultural encounter in the heart of Paris. The goal is to offer the general public an accessible introduction to Korean culture, going beyond the most familiar portrayals of contemporary Korea.

The association Korea, Flavor and Culture, the driving force behind the project, has chosen the name « Heemang », which means « hope » in Korean, so that the festival carries a universal message and radiates positive energy.

Each edition, the Heemang Festival brings together citizens, associations, institutions, artists and businesses around a shared objective: to foster encounters and exchanges between France and Korea. Far more than a cultural event, it is an invitation to dialogue, sharing and discovery, in a spirit of conviviality and hope.

Among the key highlights announced, visitors will be able to explore:

  • K-pop showpieces alongside traditional Korean music and dance;
  • performances of pansori and samulnori;
  • demonstrations of Korean disciplines such as taekkyon, haidong gumdo, and hapkido;
  • workshops in calligraphy, hanji, the Korean language, and traditional games;
  • exhibition booths covering crafts, tourism, and gastronomy;
  • forums and exchanges with Korean or Franco-Korean artists, authors, artisans, entrepreneurs and institutions.

Korean gastronomy, terroirs and know-how

The gastronomy plays a key role in this edition of the Heemang Festival, featuring Korean specialties, revamped street food, and creations that blend Korean and French inspirations. Among the projects on display: Apple + Yuja, a non-alcoholic beverage pairing Norman apples with Korean yuzu.

The festival also spotlights Korea’s regional specialties, with the participation of the Korean Association for the Export of Traditional Liquors, which brings together 53 local producers. Visitors will have the chance to explore a rich array of traditional beverages, including Andong Soju and Jindo Hongju—clear reflections of the craftsmanship, flavors, and distinctive identities found across Korea’s regions.

Seven local firms from seven different Korean cities will also showcase their regions, their tourism heritage, local products and cultural initiatives. They will offer a concrete snapshot of today’s Korea, beyond the big trends, with a place-based approach led by the residents themselves.

An event to mark 140 years of Franco-Korean friendship

This 3rd edition of the Heemang Festival takes on a special significance as it aligns with the 140th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic ties between France and Korea. The event has indeed earned the official "140 years" label from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, underscoring its cultural and symbolic reach.

The festival caters to anyone curious about Korean culture, families, food and craft lovers, and audiences eager to discover a multifaceted Korea—where tradition sits alongside the cultural industries, regional know-how, and local initiatives.

Don’t hesitate to head to the Heemang Festival on July 4 and 5, 2026, at the Pont Saint-Louis, in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. Admission is free for this open‑air cultural event in the heart of the capital.
