The Curie Institute is once again inviting all runners to Paris this Saturday, November 21, 2026, for a new edition of the Lights Race, a sporting event in support of cancer research. 5K or 10K?

La Course des Lumières returns this year as research needs support more than ever. Save the date: Saturday, November 21, 2026 in Paris to take part in this sporting and charitable event organized by the Institut Curie, with half the funds going to cancer research. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or not, participants can choose between a 5- or 10-kilometer run or a 5-kilometer walking route through the heart of the City of Light.

In 2020, the Course des Lumières raised more than €220,000 for the fight against cancer. That sum helped push forward research into a disease that remains the leading cause of death in France, with nearly 149,000 deaths each year. One in five men and one in six women will develop cancer at some point in their lives.

This charity, night-time event starting from the Port des Champs-Élysées, aims to raise awareness of the fight against cancer and to give hope to those affected by funding access to appropriate treatments. Each participant will receive a glowing object to light up the night in the battle against cancer. Children under 14 are also welcome to walk at their own pace.

To capture the convivial spirit of this event, the Village des Lumières at Stade Emile Anthoine will offer participants festive animations throughout the evening, including photo booths, food trucks, and DJ sets.
