Who hasn't played a game of cat and mouse as a child? Nowadays, there's a more extreme version: Chase Tag, a discipline derived from yamakasis, the urban acrobats who practice parkour. A true agility sport and an art of movement, chase tag is beginning to make its mark in France, and is now taking root in Evry-Courcouronnes . From April 12 to 21, the LE SPOT shopping center invites you to try your hand at the sport and watch choreographed demonstrations.
Alongside coaches from local teams BlackList and The Crow, anyone aged 6 and over will be able to try their hand in an 8x8-meter space inside the mall. It's the perfect opportunity to discover this sport, before the World Championships which take place from April 26 to 28 at the Agora Arena, where athletes from all over the world come to compete to crown the best among them. For the first time since 2016, this competition is being held outside the UK, with prices starting from 15 euros.
On Wednesday, April 24, the city of Evry inaugurates its outdoor arena, measuring 12 meters by 12 meters, in the SPOT P5 parking lot, a stone's throw from the RER station, with free access, open to all from April 6, 2024, a world first. A perfect opportunity to test chase tag in the very best conditions, where the discipline has begun to make its mark in France, Yasmine Ouadi being one of the best WCT athletes in the world, originally from Évry-Courcouronnes.
