One year after the Olympic Games, the Seine continues to vibrate to the rhythm of sport: on July 25, 2025, Paris hosts a leg of the European Open Water Swimming Cup. Swimmers will compete between the banks of the Bras de Grenelle and the Statue of Liberty.

Since the Seine is once again open to swimming in certain spots, competitions and sporting events have been multiplying there, following on from the Paris 2024 Olympics. On Friday, July 25, 2025, Paris and its river will host the third leg of the European Open Water Swimming Cup, a major sporting event organized by the French Swimming Federation and European Aquatics. On this occasion, the discipline's continental elite will compete, including Inès Delacroix, Chiara Sanzullo, Lisa Pou, Marc-Antoine Olivier and Dario Verani, all of whom have already been confirmed.

This marks the return of open-water swimming to the Seine, ahead of the next European Swimming Championships, to be held at the same venue in August 2026. As for the course, it delineates a 1250m loop, to be covered 8 times, between the City of Paris' Baignades en Seine area and downstream of the Pont de Grenelle with its Statue of Liberty.
