Paris is taking a dip! From summer 2025, Paris will be taking its head out of the water and - at last - allowing people to swim in the Seine. It's been forbidden for a hundred years... and now it's open to all! Thanks to whom? Thanks to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which had wet its whistle.
And guess what? One of the three new spots where you can take a dip is right in the heart of the 15th arrondissement: the Grenelle bathing beach, just opposite the Ile aux Cygnes, between the Eiffel Tower, the Champ-de-Mars and not far from the Beaugrenelle shopping center. A touch of the Riviera at the foot of the Bir-Hakeim metro station, which could well wake up the neighborhood!
The site features a solarium, XXL pontoons and a shallow pool (40 to 60 cm) perfect for families and small fish. More experienced swimmers can take to the 60 x 20-meter pool, in a marked area such as the Bras Marie swim, to swim laps in total serenity in the heart of a setting as natural as it is exceptional. Be warned, though, that the current can be a bit playful, so it's best to know how to swim a little!
On site, everything is there: changing rooms, showers, toilets, first-aid post, reception... All surrounded by a wooded area, and accessible to people with reduced mobility. What's even better? A nearby nautical base offers free kayak sessions. Paddle without moderation!
Maximum capacity? 200 people simultaneously, including 150 in the water. From July 5 to August 31, 2025, come and take a dip in this brand-new cool spot in the heart of the capital.
This summer in Paris, it's a must to swap your metro-workday for a swimsuit-plouf in the Seine!
