Egyptology enthusiasts are invited to Paris Expo Porte de Versailles on Saturday, July 4 at 5 p.m. for an exceptional lecture by Egyptologist Zahi Hawass. Organized to mark the opening of the exhibition Tutankhamun: His Tomb and Treasures, this event will be held in the Europe Hall of Pavilion 4.
Entitled Archaeological Adventures, this lecture will allow the renowned specialist in ancient Egypt to look back on more than fifty years of research, excavations and archaeological discoveries.
For nearly fifty minutes, Zahi Hawass will delve into several of the great mysteries of ancient Egypt. He will address, in particular, Tutankhamun and the royal family, the ongoing research surrounding Nefertiti’s tomb, recent discoveries in the Valley of the Kings, and new advances regarding the tombs of Cleopatra and Mark Antony. The lecture will also revisit the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the discovery of the City of Gold.
Against a backdrop of archaeological finds, unseen images, and firsthand accounts, this event offers a clearer view of some of the most striking discoveries in contemporary Egyptian archaeology, as well as the questions that continue to drive research.
This conference forms part of the Paris launch of the exhibition Toutankhamon: His Tomb and Treasures, slated to open at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Florence Maruéjol, a doctor of Egyptology and the spokesperson for the Paris exhibition, will also participate in the event.
