Where to swim in the Seine in Paris in 2026? The Bercy site, in the 12th arrondissement.

Since the last summer and after a century-long ban, the general public can once again swim in the Seine in Paris. That's a game changer (and a lifeline!) during the summer season in the capital, especially when it's très chaud.

Thus, three new swimming sites in the Seine were unveiled in the summer of 2025, one of them located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, just south of Parc de Bercy, on either side of the Passerelle Simone de Beauvoir and opposite the François Mitterrand National Library.

This stretch of the Seine quays, not far from Bercy Village, stands out for its festive atmosphere, with plenty of cultural terraces and boats hosting concerts. From Petit Bain to Bateau-Phare, via Plat/Form or Quai de la Photo, you’ll already feel a laid‑back, stylish vibe that makes it a great spot to drop in.

From now on, two protected swimming areas and free of charge await swimmers of all ages, without disrupting boat traffic on the Seine. One basin stretches 35 m in length and 12.5 m in width, while the second, the largest of all swimming zones on the Seine, offers a footprint of 67 m long and 11 m wide.

Along the quays, a dedicated area has been laid out featuring an accessible solarium, changing rooms, showers, restrooms and, of course, a lifeguard post. The site can accommodate up to 700 people at once, including 300 swimmers. From July 4 through the end of summer 2026, come and enjoy this brand-new swimming spot!
