The celebrated third-space in the 12th arrondissement is turning its hall into a vast arena for collective experiments. On the menu: screenings on giant displays, e-sport tournaments, tropical DJ sets, vintage flea-market vibes, and above all a genuine open-access football pitch.
This summer’s main draw is Ground Control’s unconventional football pitch — 8.5 meters by 11 meters — set up right inside its hall. Open to drop-in challenges or bookable for tournaments, the space is designed to put a ball back in the feet of Parisians who often lack proper facilities in the city.
Far from the sole pursuit of performance, the venue teams up with numerous federations and groups to showcase the beautiful game in inclusive and unconventional formats: walking football, Subbuteo, foot-golf, and even quadball taster sessions.
For fans of big collective thrills, World Cup matches will be shown on giant screens, with a soundscape tuned to the cultures of the nations on the pitch. The post-match third halves are shaping up to be rhythm-packed, with DJ sets ranging from cumbia and Afrobeats to tropical electro, not to mention themed karaoke sessions.
Pop culture and style fans won’t be left out, as the event spot will also host the famous brocante So Foot to hunt down vintage jerseys unavailable elsewhere, along with a gaming area dedicated to intense FIFA tournaments. To top it off, a grand prize-predicting contest will be launched in partnership with the famous app Mon Petit Prono, with a slew of prizes at stake.
