The Carrières-sur-Seine fan zone keeps the ball in play right to the end: in the Yvelines (78), the Stade des Terrasses will fire up its giant screen this Saturday, July 18, 2026 for the World Cup 2026 third-place match. Defeated by Spain in the semifinals, the Blues won’t be in the big final on Sunday, July 19, as had been planned here. The town has adjusted its program and shifted to France – England, the final gathering for French football supporters around the ball.
This third-place match promises a compelling storyline. After a 2-0 defeat to the eventual finalists Spain, the French team encounters England, who also fell in the semi-finals, against Lionel Messi's Argentina. Kick-off is at 11 p.m. Paris time from the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, and the game will be broadcast live on free-to-air M6, as well as on beIN Sports 1. In Carrières-sur-Seine, fans are following the action together, with a big-screen setup in place.
On site, the idea is the same as at the start of the competition: experience football together rather than from your couch. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., with a karaoke session followed by a DJ set to pass the time until kick-off. On the food side, food trucks and the bar take over, and picnicking is allowed on site (bring appropriate cutlery and respect the space). We have a soft spot for this neighborhood format—quieter than a major urban fan zone, where you mainly run into families and neighbors who’ve walked over.
The fan zone unfolds at the Stade des Terrasses in Carrières-sur-Seine, with free admission. The event is backed by the City, in partnership with Blanco Events. For the latest evening details (access, rules, items not allowed), your best bet is to check the municipality’s official page. And if you’d rather follow the match in another way, here’s how to watch France vs England in streaming on your phone.
Looking to gauge the different vibes before choosing your spot? In the 78, the guinguette du Mesnil-Saint-Denis will also be showing France vs. England this Saturday. And for a complete overview, our guide to fan zones in Paris and Île-de-France lists all the giant screens for the 2026 World Cup.
