It's a ranking that is sometimes closely scrutinized by artists and record companies alike. Crédit Mutuel and its music platform Riffx unveil the barometer of the 100 artists preferred by the French in 2023. Unsurprisingly, the very discreet Jean-Jacques Goldman tops the podium. In second place is the ever-popular Indochine, led by Nicola Sirkis. Finally, Florent Pagny - who performed several concerts in France this summer - comes third in this ranking of the 100 favorite artists of the French in 2023.
Then come Francis Cabrel (4th), Stromae (5th), Soprano ( 6th), Céline Dion (7th), Mylène Farmer (8th), Renaud ( 9th) and Grand Corps Malade ( 10th).
It should also be noted that parity is not really respected, as only 7 women rank in this Top 50 of the French people's favorite artists, and only 26 in the Top 100.
Tastes also diverge according to age, since most of the artists in the Top 15 of 18-24 year-olds are influenced by Rap or R'n'B, such as Damso, Gims, Ninho, Soprano, Dadju, Orelsan, Bigflo & Oli, SCH, Niska, Naps, JuL... On the other hand, some artists from the 80s generation are holding their own in this ranking, such as Émile et Images (55th), Gilbert Montagné (57th) and Jeanne Mas (72nd).
