Huma Festival: here’s how to get to Base 217, the site of the famous people’s festival

Remember this: in 2022, the regulars of the Fête de l’Huma faced a major shift. Four years earlier, the country’s biggest public festival moved its home. The largest popular festival in France was leaving its historic site in Seine-Saint-Denis to settle much further south. It chose Essonne as its new base. The reason for the move? The Olympic Games, and the media village going up on the Aire des Vents in Dugny, near La Courneuve.

So the Fête de l’Huma had no choice but to abandon that playground and land in Essonne on the former Base 217. A site that the festival will occupy, for the fifth year running, on these 11, 12 et 13 septembre 2026.

A move with consequences for festival-goers, since this site is much farther from the capital. But then, how do you get to Base 217 in Le Plessis-Pâté? Whether you choose public transport, a car, or a two-wheeler, here are practical tips to reach the newly relocated Fête de l’Huma venue!

How to get to the Fête de l'Huma by public transport?

To get to the Fête de l'Huma

If you’re coming from Paris, you’ve got two options: take the RER D to Orangis Bois de l'Épine station, or board the RER C to reach Brétigny-sur-Orge station. If you’re starting from the southern part of Essonne, take the RER C to Brétigny.

If you choose to take the RER C, you should know that the service has been extended, with adapted timetables:

Free shuttles available

Once you reach the Brétigny-sur-Orge station (RER C), you’ll need to walk, since the station is about 2 kilometers from the festival site entrance. Plan on roughly 30 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bike. Alternatively, take one of the free shuttles, which operate "all day long". These shuttles drop you about a 12-minute walk from the festival entrances from Brétigny-Sur-Orge Station and at the Jean Jaurès entrance of Base 217 for the shuttles from Orangis Bois de l'Épine station.

How to get to the Fête de l'Huma on a two-wheeler (bike, motorcycle, scooter)?

If you're planning to bring your motorized two-wheeler to Base 217, then you should know that the event provides a dedicated parking area. This two-wheeler parking is free on presentation of your Fête de l'Humanité admission ticket. It is accessible to motorized two-wheelers via Gate B. There is also a free helmet locker on site.

What are the opening hours of this two-wheeler parking lot? It's open from 12pm to 10pm on Friday, from 9am to 10pm on Saturday, and from 9am to 5pm on Sunday.

For the parking à vélos, it’s free as well when you present your entry ticket to the Fête de l’Humanité. It is also open from 12:00 to 22:00 on Friday, from 09:00 to 22:00 on Saturday, and from 09:00 to 17:00 on Sunday. By the way, access is via the Porte J.

How to get to the Fête de l'Huma by car?

Parking is also arranged to welcome festival-goers who want to drive to the Base 217. Note that these public parking areas are accessible via the Door B and the Door J of the site. Your access gate will be issued based on your geographic origin.

Quid des horaires ? They operate Friday from 12:00 to 22:00, Saturday from 09:00 to 22:00, and Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00. Be aware that after these hours, entry to the parking will be refused. However, parking exits are available 24/7. Note that for this 2026 edition, public parking is currently full.

Additionally, the Fête de l'Huma also provides a parking area dedicated to people with disabilities and those with reduced mobility, located in close proximity to the festival entrances. Parking in this area is free by reservation and upon presentation of the Mobility Inclusion Card (CMI). The parking is accessible via Entrance B.
