Hip Hop Talents 2026: the final round of the dance, rap and street-art contest at La Gaîté Lyrique

Want to catch a sneak preview of the debut of the upcoming French hip-hop stars hip-hop ? Then mark your calendar for Saturday September 19, 2026, at the heart of the Gaîté Lyrique for the grand finale of Hip Hop Talents across three disciplines: rap, dance and street art. After rigorous regional selections, six finalists in each category will battle it out on the forecourt and inside the venue’s main hall.

To decide among these talents, the jury features rapper RIM’K, street artist Fafi, choreographer Tashinda, and Skyrock’s Planet Rap host Fred Musa, the competition’s patron. Each winner will take home a €5,000 cash prize plus a personalized support grant at the end of the competition.

How are the events organized? The street-art competition kicks off at 2pm. The six finalists will face off in two creative challenges: a 20-minute challenge on a free theme, followed by a challenge on an imposed theme for the 3 selected artists. For rap, from 4pm onwards, the six finalists will perform in a carte blanche format (2 min max) on the production of their choice, then the 4 remaining candidates will compete in a contest format on an imposed production (1 min max) before a final round.

In dance, the six finalists will be given carte blanche, kicking off at 4:45 PM, then the four remaining contestants will square off in a Battle format. If the event is accessible free of charge to all curious spectators throughout the afternoon, don’t forget to reserve your seats!
