Overwhelming and electrifying. On Sunday November 19, 2023, Corey Taylor, the charismatic frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour, delivered a remarkable set at the Trianon in Paris, in front of a boiling-hot audience. Alternating between solo tracks and hits released with his two unavoidable bands, the American singer transformed the small Parisian venue into a veritable outlet. Let's take a look back at Corey Taylor's supercharged concert in Paris!

Nicknamed " The Sickness " or simply " Neck ", but also known as Number 8, Corey Taylor has been a staple of Slipknot since 1997 and of Stone Sour since its rebirth in 2002. A born leader, Corey Taylor chose to escape from the flagship Des Moines-based band for a while, releasing his first solo opus,"CMFT", in 2020. Since September 15, 2023, the American singer has been at the helm of his second solo opus, simply christened"CMF2". The album, as powerful as ever, is currently taking Corey Taylor on the road across Europe. After shows in Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and London, the singer took to the stage of the Trianon in Paris on November 19, 2023 for his only date in France.

Unsurprisingly, the Trianon was packed to the rafters on Sunday evening, with many fans proudly sporting Slipknot T-shirts. After an ultra-dynamic opening set brilliantly warmed up by Oxymorrons, Corey Taylor finally burst onto the Trianon stage some 30 minutes ahead of schedule, to a thunderous roar of cheers, applause and raised cell phones.

Dressed in a black top, black jeans and simple sneakers, Corey Taylor chose to kick things off with a thunderous rendition of " Post Traumatic Blues ". Of course, tracks from his second solo opus,"CFM2", were played extensively on Sunday by Corey Taylor and his merry band of four musicians, including guitarist Christian Martucci, drummer Dustin Robert and Zach Throne.

The audience was able to let off steam on the powerful " We Are the Rest " and " Talk Sick ", with their punk overtones, the rousing " Beyond ", driven by sharp riffs, and the bewitching, sublime " Midnight ".

On stage, Corey Taylor has no difficulty in taking the audience with him. With his unique blend of vocals, snarling roars and controlled growls, as well as his undeniable charisma and infectious energy, the artist is in total communion with his fans. Clearly happy and delighted to be in Paris, Corey Taylor is quick to praise the venue, even going so far as to say that the Parisian audience is the loudest, in a good way of course. With his unfailing professionalism and incredible generosity, the singer and musician is a veritable beast on stage, the likes of which are all too rare.

And this obvious synergy with the fans is even more obvious when the first notes of " Before I Forget ", Slipknot's unmissable hit, ring out. From then on, the temperature rises even further, as a small circle pit forms in the pit. And this unleashed track produced by the legendary Des Moines band wasn't the only one Corey Taylor performed on Sunday evening. The 49-year-old singer chose to honor two other key tracks produced with the members of Slipknot, namely the gripping " Snuff " and the powerful " Duality " by way of encore. To top it all off, fans were also treated to four Stone Sour tracks, including " Song #3 " and the global hit " Through Glass ".

After around 1h15 of a galvanizing, high-octane set, Corey Taylor and his bandmates decided to round off this remarkable concert - albeit too short for our liking - by paying tribute to the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Orboune, with a passionate and powerful rendition of Black Sabbath's excellent " Fairies Wear Boots "!

Visibly tired, but happy, the fans gave Corey Taylor a standing ovation as he finished his set shirtless, such was the heat that had taken hold of the room over the course of the evening.
