Attention Bruce Springsteen and Jimi Hendrix fans! France 4, the France Télévisions channel, is devoting a special evening to these two rock icons. Not to be missed this Wednesday, January 24, 2024, the evening kicks off with the prime-time rebroadcast of a documentary dedicated to Bruce Springsteen. Directed by Nigel Cole in 2016, this film paints a portrait of the man many call the Boss.
In this documentary, entitled " Bruce raconte Springsteen ", the American artist, born on September 23, 1949, looks back at key moments in his life, drawing parallels with several of his greatest songs. Through an intimate conversation with the Boss, as well as some rare archive footage, viewers learn more about the childhood of this immense artist who grew up in New Jersey, in a typical working-class suburb of the 1950s, but also about the passion for music that has driven him from an early age.
Then, in the second half of the evening, France 4 pays tribute to another rock legend who left far too soon: Jimi Hendrix. An iconic American guitarist who died on September 18, 1970, Jimi Hendrix left an indisputable mark on the history of rock.
This Wednesday, January 24, 2024, starting at 10:10 pm, France 4 will rebroadcast the tribute concert to the artist celebrated by four talented musicians: Deep Purple guitarist Steve Morse, Van Halen guitarist Steve Vai, Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth and Eric Sardinas, best known for his collaboration with Metallica on the"Garage Inc" album. In this tribute concert, the four artists cover some of Jimi Hendrix's greatest hits, including the legendary " Hey Joe ".
