Eurovision 2025: discover the 27 contestants already in the running

There are already 27 of them. 27 candidates taking part in the 2025 edition of Eurovision, whose grand final is due to take place in Basel, Switzerland on May 17. So, who are they? Find out more about the 27 artists and groups already selected to take part in the 69th edition of Eurovision.

Who will succeed Switzerland's Nemo,Eurovision winner in 2024? For the time being, the suspense remains intact. However, the more the weeks go by, the more we know about the new 69th edition of Eurovision. Next spring, the song contest will be broadcast live from Basel, Switzerland , from May 13 to 17, 2025, the day of the eagerly-awaited final.

In the meantime, each country taking part inEurovision - 37 this year - is gradually unveiling its chosen candidate and the song that will be performed for the occasion. So far, 27 artists and groups have been selected. So, who are they? We tell you more about the talents chosen to defend their country in song.

Shkodra Elektronike is the name of Albania' s entry for Eurovision 2025. Behind this musical project are singer-songwriter-producer Kolë Laca and singer-songwriter Beatriçe Gjergji. These two Albanian artists grew up in Italy, a long way from their hometown of Shkodër. Together, they offer a skilful blend of electronic sounds and traditional Balkan and Mediterranean music.

For Eurovision 2025, Shkodra Elektronike will represent Albania with his song"Zjerm".

Another name selected forEurovision 2025, another country with Theo Evan, who will represent Cyprus next spring. For the time being, we still don't know what song he'll be performing for the occasion. But he was the first artist confirmed for this 2025 edition of Eurovision and will be the first male solo singer to represent Cyprus since 2023, as well as the first native Cypriot to represent the island at the Song Contest since 2017.

The artist, born in 1997, has been singing and dancing since the age of 7. In 2021, he unveiled his first single, "The Wall". Since then, 6 other singles have been released, the latest being"Fading Dreams". Theo Evan has also appeared in the HBO TV series "Euphoria".

What about the Netherlands? ForEurovision 2025, Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS has appointed Claude Kiambe, aka Claude, as its representative. The song to be performed in Basel next May has yet to be revealed.

Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Claude arrived in the Netherlands at the age of nine. Since then, the artist has already made a name for himself at home, thanks in particular to his single"Ladada (Mon Dernier Mot)", which has racked up over 57 million streams. Named "Best Artist of the Year" by Qmusic, Claude released his debut album,"Parler Français", in 2024.


We're off to the Czech Republic, which has chosen to bet on ADONXS. Behind this artist name lies Adam Pavlovčin. Both a Slovakian singer and songwriter, ADONXS released his first proper album"Age of Adonxs" in 2022. Prior to this, the artist - born in 1995 and now based in Prague - had already made a name for himself thanks to his victory in the "SuperStar" TV show in 2021.

Proof of his renown, ADONXS took part in the prestigious Sziget Festival in Budapest in 2023. In 2025, the artist intends to take on a new challenge with his participation in Eurovision as representative of the Czech Republic. With his powerful voice, the artist is sure to seduce many ears. For the occasion, he will perform the song"Kiss Kiss Goodbye".

Montenegro has also appointed its representative for 2025. It's Nina Žižić. Good news for this artist, who has already represented Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest. That was in 2013 in Malmö, Sweden, with the duo Who See. Unfortunately, their song " Igranka " didn't take them through to the final. Let's hope that the song " Dobrodošli ", chosen for Eurovision 2025, will bring more luck.

Another country, another representative with JJ who will be defending the colors ofAustria. JJ, whose real name is Johannes Pietsch, was born in Vienna in 2001 and grew up in Dubai before returning to the Austrian capital in 2016. Thanks to his remarkable range and performances, the artist has already made a name for himself in the world of classical music. This spring, he'll be making a name for himself at the Eurovision Song Contest, with a song yet to be unveiled.

We're off to Azerbaijan, which has chosen to bank on the band Mamagama this year and the song"Run With U". Formed in 2021, Mamagama consists of Asaf on vocals, Huss on guitar and Arif on drums. Together, the trio has already captivated audiences at international music festivals and competitions, thanks in part to a catchy style blending modern influences with Azerbaijan's deep-rooted musical heritage.

We're off to Belgium to discover Red Sebastian, the country's representative in 2025. The artist is notably known at home for having been a finalist on"Belgium's Got Talent" in 2014. More recently, the singer was a finalist on the TV show"Sing Again", in which he stood out for both his vocal range and his remarkable outfits. This spring, Red Sebastian hopes to take first place at Eurovision with his song"Strobe Lights".

Erika Vikman: that's the name of the artist who will represent Finland at Eurovision this spring. The artist became famous among Finns for winning the popular"Tangomarkkinat" festival. To date, Erika Vikman has released an opus in August 2021 (Warner Music), and a dozen singles. Next May, in a bid to reach the final and win the Eurovision Song Contest, Erika Vikman will perform the song"Ich Komme".

For its part, Greece has appointed artist Klavdia as its representative for the 2025 edition of Eurovision. Proof of her fame, Klavdia has gone from the final of"The Voice of Greece" to the release of hit singles. After winning the very first edition of " Ethnikós Telikós " in Greece, Klavdia will represent her country in Basel, Switzerland, with the song " Asteromáta ".

Ireland, which made its mark last year with the dark universe of Bambie Thug, changes its tune this year and appoints EMMY as the 2025 representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. A 24-year-old Norwegian singer-songwriter, EMMY was born and raised in a music-loving family. This spring, it's with the song " Laika Party " that the young singer will be aiming for first place!

Yuval Raphael is the representative chosen by Israel. A native of Ra'anana, Yuval Raphael only recently began her professional singing career, in 2024, but quickly captivated viewers of"The Rising Star" at home. No word yet on the song she'll be performing next May in Switzerland, so stay tuned!

We're off to Latvia to discover Tautumeitas, who will be defending the colors of this Baltic country in May. An ethno-pop band, Tautumeitas has already performed abroad, including in China, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, France and Poland.

At the helm of four opuses, in 2018 the band released the album"Tautumeitas", which won the " Golden Microphone " award for best folk/world music album of the year in 2018. This spring, Tautumeitas is hoping to make a difference with its song " Bur man laimi ".


Laura Thorn
won the Luxembourg preselection for the Eurovision " Luxembourg Song Contest ", and will represent Luxembourg in Basel in May. With extensive training in music theory, piano, cello, keyboard, chamber music and dance from an early age, Laura has deep roots in the world of music. This spring, she will be defending the colors of Luxembourg with her song " La Poupée Monte Le Son ".


We continue with Malta, which has chosen artist Miriana Conte and her song"Kant", while Poland is hoping for victory thanks to artist Justyna Steczkowska 's rendition of"Gaja".

His name is Klemen, and he will be representing Slovenia at the next Eurovision Song Contest with his song " Much Time Do We Have Left ". His full name is Klemen Slakonja, and he began his TV career in 2007 with a series of musical imitations of Slovenian singers on the TV show " Hri-bar ". In 2025, li will release his first solo album, recorded in London, and represent Slovenia at Eurovision.


Spain,
for their part, can count on Melody to try and bring the cup home with the song " Esa Diva ". With over 25 years' experience on stage, Melody is an established pop artist, with no fewer than 6 albums to her credit, including the singles " Bandido " and " Mujer Loba ".


Make way for Ukraine, which has chosen the group Ziferblat and the song " Bird of Pray ". For the record, the trio, formed in 2015, took part in the Ukrainian preselection for Eurovision Vidbir in 2024. They finished in second place with their song " Place I Call Home ".

Parg, whose full name is Pargev Vardanian, is an Armenian indie-folk, R&B, pop and rock artist known for blending traditional Armenian elements with modern sounds. In 2021, he released his first single,"Ginin u Grely", introducing audiences to his distinctive sound. His single"Araj" was nominated for Best Video at the Armenian Music Video Awards. At the Eurovision Song Contest, he will try to make a difference with his song"Survivor".


We're off to Estonia to discover Tommy Cash and his song " Espresso Macchiato ", to be performed next spring in Basel. Extremely popular in Estonia, Tommy Cash regularly performs at such well-known festivals as Glastonbury, Sziget and Roskilde.


What choice has Iceland made this year? Which artist will represent this small, Eurovision-loving island nation? This spring, you can discover the duo VÆB and their song " RÓA " (" Chill "). VÆB is made up of brothers Matthías Davíð and Hálfdán Helgi, alias Matti and Bubbi as they are sometimes called by their friends and family. The duo won the " Söngvakeppnin " (Iceland's preselection for Eurovision) and will represent the Nordic nation at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest. We imagine that their style (the duo is dressed entirely in silver) will arouse the curiosity of many.


Heading for Lithuania, which has chosen to bank on the band Katarsis and their song " Tavo Akys ". Blending dark alternative and post-punk music, Katarsis is made up of Lukas Radzevičius (vocals), Alanas Brasas (guitar), Emilija Kandratavičiūtė (bass guitar) and Jokūbas Andriulis (drums). This spring, thanks to their evocative sound, the band are hoping to make their mark and enter the Eurovision hit parade!


Australia
has also nominated its candidate for Eurovision 2025. This spring, it's Go-Jo and his song " Milkshake Man ". A musical project by artist Marty Zambotto, Go-Jo has gathered over 1.4 million followers on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. Proof of his fame, Go-Jo was the 9th most streamed Australian artist in the world in 2023. The artist has also toured Australia, Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia. Already well known for his song " Mrs. Hollywood ", Go-Jo intends to make a name for himself again with his track " Milkshake Man ", and why not win the 69th edition of Eurovision thanks to this song.


We're heading north, to Norway to be precise, to discover Kyle Alessandro, the Scandinavian country's representative at the 69th edition of Eurovision. Only 18 years old, Kyle Alessandro had already made a name for himself by taking part in TV 2's Norske Talenter, when he was just 10 years old. For Eurovision, Kyle Alessandro will perform the song " Lighter ", which he wrote and produced largely on his own, with the help of artist, songwriter and producer Adam Woods.


Last but not least, Italy could be a serious contender for France. This year, the land of Dolce Vita is hoping to take first place thanks to Lucio Corsi and his song " Volevo Essere Un Duro ". The 31-year-old Tuscan singer-songwriter has been chosen by Italy to try and bring the trophy home, following Måneskin's coronation in 2021.

It should be noted, however, that Lucio Corsi did not finish first at the Festival de Sanremo 2025, which traditionally selects the Italian representative at the song contest. But Olly, the winner of this musical event with a strong Italian following, declined his Eurovision bid. A refusal that made Lucio Corsi very happy!

What about France? This year, Louane will represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest. For the moment, the song the artist will perform has not yet been revealed. But Louane will be singing it for the very first time at the Stade de France on March 15.

There are still 10 countries to choose from: Croatia, Denmark, Georgia, Germany, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Sweden, Great Britain and Switzerland, last year's winner.
