The 68th Eurovision Song Contest is back. This year, 37 countries and as many representatives are competing, in the hope of winning on May 11. Once again, eclecticism is in the spotlight, with some offbeat candidates and unusual titles. Let's take a look at 5 original songs competing at this year's Eurovision!

EveryEurovision contest has its share of surprises. While Loreen won last year's contest for Sweden, Finnish candidate Käärijä came close to dethroning her with his quirky universe and unusual song. Once again this year, several candidates are already making a name for themselves with their out-of-the-ordinary songs. Here, we take a look at 5 of the original songs competing in this spring's 68thEurovision Song Contest.

Croatia: Baby Lasagna - "Rim Tim Tagi Dim

Created by singer-songwriter Marko Purišić, Baby Lasagna has been chosen to represent Croatia this year. Its style? Humorous, laid-back lyrics skilfully blended with an industrial metal sound close to that of Rammstein, for whom Baby Lasagna makes no secret of his admiration.

With their song " Rim Tim Tagi Dim ", Baby Lasagna are hoping to make a name for themselves this spring, with a dynamic, flamboyant set design featuring hooded musicians. For the time being, the band is one of the favorites according to the bookmakers.

Estonia: 5miinust & Puuluup - "(Nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi"

Everything about Estonia's representative is original! Starting with the name of the project and the title of the song, whichEurovision presenters are likely to have trouble pronouncing in full.

For the record, 5miinust & Puuluup is an eclectic collaboration between an Estonian hip-hop group and an internationally active nu-folk duo. Although musically far apart, the two musical projects decided to work together as one and try to bring home the trophy with an original style that leaves no one indifferent.

Finland: Windows95man - "No Rules

After the eccentric Käärijä in 2023, get ready to discover Windows95man! Artist, dancer and model, Windows95man - real name Teemu Keisteri - is a well-known figure in Finland. With his T-shirt and jean shorts combo, Windows95man is used to offering intense, offbeat performances.

We imagine that the artist, accompanied on vocals by Henri Piispanen for the song " No Rules ", will be able to surprise the public and viewers this May. During the Finnish final, which he largely won, Windows95man didn't hesitate to hide in a giant denim egg!

Ireland: Bambie Thug - "Doomsday Blue

This year, for the 68th edition ofEurovision,Ireland is going for originality and betting on " Ouija-pop ", the term used by Bambie Thug to describe his musical universe. A regular on the big stages and at European festivals, Bambie Thug 's ultra-dark sound breaks with the stereotypes of the genre.

Opting for a mix between the exuberant Nina Hagen and the famous Björk, Bambie Thug may not appeal to everyone, but she's got what it takes to make her mark on this 68th edition of Eurovision!

Netherlands: Joost Klein - "Europapa

We close with Joost Klein, representing the Netherlands at this year'sEurovision. A musician, writer and quirky artist in one, Joost Klein offers a clever blend of mainstream pop and pop punk. Well-known at home in the Netherlands, Joost Klein 's songwriting is as offbeat as his video, which has been viewed over 14 million times!

So, will the originality of his song, entitled " Europapa ", seduce the public and the jury, and win him a place next May in Malmö, Sweden? Answer very soon!
