Arab-Andalusian music comes to Paris this spring for the very first edition of the Andaloussiyat festival. Running from Tuesday March 25 to Sunday March 30, 2025 at theInstitut du Monde Arabe, this new cultural and musical event will take you on a journey to Algeria, the guest country of this first edition.
For the occasion, Andaloussiyat is offering a series of concerts, lectures, projections and workshops to introduce the public to Algeria's different musical traditions, from the maâlouf of Constantine to the sanâa of Algiers, via the Tlemcen school.
This spring, the Andaloussiyat festival will be welcoming leading figures in the genre, including Salim Fergani, Abbas Righi and Amel Brahim-Djelloul. And don't miss a lecture on the place of Arabo-Andalusian music at the 1932 Cairo Congress, and practical workshops to introduce the most curious to the subtleties of singing in all its richness.
The full program is available on the Institut du monde arabe website. Reservations are already open.
